Lumberjacks will play in Lubbock
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Texas Tech Red Raiders have been added to the Lumberjacks' 2013 schedule announced Stephen F. Austin Director of Athletics Robert Hill Thursday morning. The game is scheduled to be played Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, in Lubbock, Texas.
"We are happy to be able to schedule a game against Texas Tech," said SFA Director of Athletics Robert Hill. "We always look forward to scheduling a high-profile game against an FBS opponent every season. The game will also give our fans and alumni in west Texas an opportunity to see us play."
The Lumberjacks will be heading to Baylor next season, and will make a return trip to SMU in 2012. SFA finished the 2010 season winning its second consecutive Southland Conference title, and making a return trip to the NCAA FCS playoffs. SFA wrapped up the year with a 9-3 overall record and a No. 8 national ranking.
Following the season SFA quarterback Jeremy Moses was named the 2010 Walter Payton Award winner. It was the first time a Lumberjack, or Southland Conference player has received the award.
