SFA will start season @ Kansas State
Tyler (KETK) — Stephen F. Austin will take on the Big 12 in the season opener.
The Lumberjacks will play at Kansas State Saturday night.
Playing a major college opponent is nothing new to SFA.
"Being able to matchup against a Big 12 team is always a lot of fun," SFA irector of Athletics Robert Hill told KETK. "On occasion you pull off that major upset."
This game is the latest in a yearly series of games that SFA plays against larger football programs.
The 'Jacks will play at TCU next year.
Stephen F. Austin will play at Texas Tech the following year.
SFA will play at Mississippi State in 2018.
"We want to play one of these games every year," Hill told KETK Sports Director Danny Elzner. "It's great for our schedule and student athletes and our student body to know they can play on that stage. Every year we feel like our kids deserve a great experience."
