Shooting of Gregg County judge puts mental health in spotlight
Gregg County — The daughter of a Gregg County judge shot by his wife this past weekend says the case is about mental illness, not domestic violence.

Ina Lawson, 70, was jailed on charges related to the late Saturday shooting of her husband, Gregg County Pct. 4 Justice of the Peace Sam Lawson. On Monday, his condition was upgraded to good at Good Shepherd Medical Center, where he had been in critical condition. He suffered at least three gunshot wounds.
