How do we e-mail Scott Chesner. We received 4" of rain in our backyard rain gauge!! We live off S. Broadway by Walmart/Target area. Scott was right as rain!

I agree with the person who mentioned if they don't evacuate, they are on their own and the public shouldn't bail them out.

Absolutely Not! Mandatory Evacuation is to protect the majority. Well, what if you have been preparing yourself, your family, and loved ones to be self sufficient, should an emergency arise. Should I feel I can be protected better than I can protect myself--I think not! Of course as always..there are many who simply act as "sheep" and if told to leave their home, possessions, and valuables..they will. I for one, hope that I will not have too... Mainly because I feel I have already been mandated with the "GET READY.GOV instructions, and other sites, to have already planned and prepared ahead of time for such emergencies that might require evacuations… I feel Americans are fools not too have headed the Get Ready Warning!

You can't legislate common sense, and you can't force people to do stuff. I live an hour outside of Houston and I did not drive north, I stayed home and did not even go out toward the highway to see in influx of cars backed up coming from Houston. I survived Hurrican Ike and it is an experience I can live to tell my future kids and grandkids, neices and nephews about. As long as you take shelter you should be ok. Hurricanes happen in Texas, but only happen every so often and aren't usually as bad as people make them out to be. If it was a force 5, I would probably leave, but Ike was only a level 2, the winds were not strong enough to blow over a car. If a car can drive as fast as the winds are blowing, its not worth being too worried about while it passes.

Well, if they come to their house & they refuse to leave, maybe. If they're crazy enough to stay when danger is immenent, they shouldn't have to be bailed out, though. America spends way too much money bailing out those who didn't follow orders in the first place.

No.
I think IF a person wants to remain, they are assuming their own welfare .No one can be sued and insurance claims should be exempt of all problems ensuing from their decision.
