Shriners 'Restoring Dreams' Gala
TYLER — The Shriners have 22 hospitals across North America helping children in need.
On Saturday night in Tyler, the "Restoring Dreams" Gala set out to help the Shriners raise money for their cause.
And the need for donations is great.
"Well because all of the care we do for the kids - we don't charge the parents. So we have to try to earn money to pay for that care," said hospital board member Steve Phelps.
The cocktail attire event was an exciting evening at the Shriners facility in Tyler with food provided by Dakota's Steakhouse, entertainment by Grant Cook, and an appearance by Smith County Sheriff J.B. Smith.
KETK's own Jessica Wilson hosted the event.
The Shriners hold a special place in her heart.
They're just a great organization and a lot of people are coming out here tonight to support them and to support the childrens hospitals. Because if it wasn't for donations or for events like this one this evening, the children wouldn't get the help that they so desperately need," Wilson said.
