Nine border patrol stations, six of them in Texas, will be closed within the next six months.

A spokesman for U.S Customs and Border Protection says, they're doing this,  to move agents closer to the Southern and Northern borders.

The interior stations in Texas, that will be shut down are---- Abilene, San Angelo, Dallas, San Antonio, Lubbock and Amarillo.

Officials say, the decision keeps with a plan that will use resources wisely.

Once the nine posts are closed--- there will be a budget savings of 1.3-million-dollars a year.

The other cities to close stations include Riverside, California, Billings, Montana and Twin Falls, Idaho.
