Smith County crews have recovered the body of a 40-year old drowning victim late Sunday evening.

The drowning happened in a small private pond, in the 13500 block of Highway 155 just before 5:30 p.m.

The Smith County Sheriff's Office says the woman rowed out to the middle of the pond on a boat. She then jumped into the water and began swimming. That's when authorities say she went under.

Her body was later recovered.

The name of the woman has not yet been released.

"rowed" not "road"
as in row row row your boat
not road road road your boat.
