The Smith County District Attorney's Office will be presenting funds to the Tyler Police Department today.

The event will take place on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the Tyler Police Department.

Smith County D.A. Matt Bingham will present items that were purchased by forfeiture funds from the District Attorney's Office to Chief Swindle.

The total amount of those items that were purchased to assist the Tyler Police Department totaled to be more than $18,000.

Items purchased from this donation:

  • 14 SWAT helmets
  • 6 helmet face shields
  • 26 computer monitors for investigators
  • Forensic equipment
  • Upgrade target system
  • 2 patrol bicycles

 

The Tyler Police Department and Chief Swindle would like to thank Smith County D.A. Matt Bingham for the generous donation to help fight crime in the city of Tyler.
