Smith County donates bicycles to Azleway Boy's Ranch

Smith County, Tx — The Smith County Commissioners Court voted this week to donate 9 bicycles to the Azleway Boy’s Ranch in Tyler. The bikes had been recovered by the Smith County Sheriff’s Department, but never reclaimed. As part of the countywide clean-up effort, they were identified by the Smith County Clean-Up Committee as surplus items and brought to the Commissioners Court for approval to donate.
“I am very pleased that these bikes will go to a good home and a group of kids that may not otherwise have had a bike of their own,” said County Judge Joel Baker.
Court members were pleased that the bikes will once again bring joy to a group of children. Azleway Ranch assists more than 1,000 Texas children who are at-risk and in crisis by providing a home, school, and treatment opportunities with intervention and prevention strategies for the children and their families.
