Smith County Election Officials Preparing For Election Day

SMITH COUNTY - Smith County election officials say they're anticipating a record number of voters at the county's sixty-eight polling locations on Tuesday.

Officials have hired additional election day workers. They will have extra voting machines on standby and eleven phone lines to answer questions for voters.

Election officials say almost 50,000 people voted early in Smith County.

Officials are anticipating an additional 45,000 will cast their ballots on election day.

I was surprised to see that the district that I voted in wasn't busy at all. What I wanted to share though was what happened AFTER I voted.
I had told my kindergartner that I would go to his school to have lunch with him. I had no clue that I would spend 20 minutes discussing who would become president with five-year olds!!! Every single child who was talking in our group told me who they "voted for"! It was a lot of fun!!!

What an exciting day!!!! I can't wait to vote!
