Soundoff, East Texas: Nobel Peace Prize
October 10, 2009 - 9:04pm
As many know, the President has received one of the most coveted prizes in the world.
President Obama's step-grandmother spoke today of her joy that her step-grandson had been awarded this year's Nobel Peace Prize.
Sarah Obama advised President Obama to be of good character and to continue to work for peace.
Sitting on a plastic chair outside her compound, Sarah Obama described President Obama's win as a "gift from God."
There's some uproar surrounding the president's honor, so do you think President Obama deserved to win the award.

I suppose that Obama is in rarefied company having won the Nobel Peace prize. Let me see, Yassir Arafat, Jimmy Carter. Need we go any further. Sort of tells you something about who is behind this prize. I would have considered this a monumental insult and told them on behalf of the American people, you can keep your prize. By the way, didn't this prize come about by a man who invented dynamite?

5 months agoWhat a disappoinment. Our country has enough problems attempting to keep our constitutional rights and then this happens to boost the ego of a narcissist. America should wake up and realize the truth about this man before we find ourselves broke and without our freedoms.

5 months agoI am in complete agreement that this is a "gift from a god" but not God, the Father or the Son. This world is in trouble and there is nothing that anyone can do that will change the history that has already been written in the Bible. It is time for America and the world to get their affairs in order with God because the things of this world will fade away and each of us will be left with this fate: Heaven or Hell.

5 months agoHats off to you Mr. Kitson. You hit the iconic nail on the head with that. The nominations for the "Nobel" peace prize were concluded I believe, if memory serves me right, merely two weeks after the President took office. In my opinion not nearly enough time to be able to judge what he was/is going to do. Anyone can sit on a pedestal and declare great things, and if this is the case, then we should all be nominated for such things that we declare. What a farce! However, this administration has done nothing more than to almost double the national debt, of which you, I, and all the readers of this will be the ones whom will pay for it all in less than a year. I have but one thing to add to this and that is, "wake-up America", it is ALL of our faults for letting this country get into the shape it is in, it is time "We The People" step up and take responsibility for the actions or lack there of that we have allowed to be done to this "once" great nation.

5 months agoWhat on earth has he done to deserve the Nobel Peace Prize? He has gone overseas and run this country down. He has at least doubled the national debt. He has faced NO homeland security problems...such as 9/11/01, huricanes, floods, etc.

5 months agoBarry was in office 11 days when the committee nominated names. He's done JACK SQUAT!!!! Mandella or M.L.K. are far more deserving. Barry can't make up his mind about anything. He's a robot in a Brook's bros. suit. Without his prompter he's a stuttering nutso. All those speeches he keeps traveling around making, are written by someone else. I doubt Barry has ever had an original thought. I am more concerned about the removal of the don't ask, don't tell policy. And all those scary czars he has in the W.H.
