East Texans share their stories

Child Support is a big issue here in East Texas.  And everywhere else for that matter.

It's typically based on the income of the non-custodial parent - and if they don't pay, the parent trying to get their fair share usually ends up at an Attorney General's office.

But most of the time, they have to play the waiting game, because the office is so busy with cases - over 12,000 here in Smith County alone.

But one East Texas mother, Desire Garcia, hired her own attorney.

KETK's Casey Claiborne reports.

My story is almost the same, but totally different. I have dealt with a DEADBEAT that has decided that since he doesnt want to pay child support, and that since he has a job in law enforcement, that he will just file for full custody, and after doing and paying absolutely nothing, since the Child Support Case was closed without little or no notice, that he would paint the sad picture of denial, and claim to have been denied access to his only child, that he couldn't even show up to see be born.

You may not know it but if he carries a peace officer license and does not pay child support he can lose them you need to get in touch with TCLOSE (Texas Commission of Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Education) in Austin they are the governing body for the license of all peace officers in the state of Texas they maybe able to help you also you can go into any law enforcement agency and they will give you the number or else put it into Google find the number.
Good luck hope this helps
