Spring Hill ISD board looks for ‘visionary’ leader
Longview — Spring Hill ISD trustees said Tuesday that they want the district’s next leader to be “visionary” and a “good communicator.”
“I recently read in an article that ‘contagious encouragement is a key to leadership,’ ” trustee John Borens said. “I thought that was a great quality to look for in a new leader.”
Texas Association of School Boards representative Marian Strauss, who is heading the district’s superintendent search, offered two community input sessions Tuesday in which one community member showed up at each meeting to voice their opinions. She also hosted the session for the school board.
The board is looking to replace Wes Jones who signed a $127,000 separation agreement with the district in March. Interim Superintendent Rick Flanagan has served in his absence.
