St. Mary’s celebrates faith, service, community with day of festivities
Longview — Longview’s only Catholic school joined a national celebration Wednesday with a day of festivities designed to show appreciation for the opportunities students and families gain from a Catholic education.
The celebration was part of Catholic Schools Week, which runs through Saturday.
“So often people think of freedom of religion as freedom from religion, making a place be sterilized from religion,” Principal Amy Allen said Wednesday morning as hundreds of families gathered for a picnic lunch in the school’s cafeteria.
