Sales tax revenue numbers are in, and statewide numbers are up.

But, here in East Texas, the results are varied.

The City of Henderson posted a large increase of 15.58%, but nearby Kilgore's sales tax revenue is down more than 10% from 2011.

Longview and Tyler also showed slight decreases when compared to the same time last year.

What don't you understand? Henderson went from being a "dry" town to being a "wet" town last year, so now all of the money from alcohol sales that used to go to Tyler and Longview are now staying in Henderson.

You did not post numbers for the small town of Kilgore. Since this is the closest "wet" town to Henderson, I would guess their tax revenues were the lowest.
