It was an ATV accident in September which left 26-year-old, Stephanie Pryor, a young mother, with Anoxic brain damage.

While attending a baby shower in Flint, Stephanie went for a ride on a 4-wheeler and it flipped over on top of her and the handle bars pinned to her neck.

"The weight from the ATV, there was no way for her to push it off, so pretty much strangled her until she lost conscious," says Jennifer Payne.

Jennifer Payne is Stephanie's sister, she tells KETK, Stephanie wasn't wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. When she was found, she wasn't breathing and emergency responders rushed her to the hospital and got her breathing again.

"We are thankful for those people today, they saved her life," says Jennifer Payne.

East Texans continue to pray for her and help her. When Tyler Jaycees heard about Stephanie's accident they wanted to help her.

"Caring about the community as we do, we pretty much just adopted her and said you know we can raise a lot of money for this girl," says Bobby Jones, President of Tyler Jaycees.

Payne says, the proceeds will go towards rehab and treatment.

"This event is very important we want promote 4-wheeler safety because we want to prevent... reduce the chances of this happening again," says Michael Grimes, Member of Tyler Jaycees.

"If everybody takes the time out and puts a helmet on their child, wears a helmet whenever they got out and ride," says Jennifer Payne.

She adds, "She lives life by the minute, what happens right now she won't remember in five-minutes. And says, that minute is a blessing.

"I'm just really grateful for the City of Tyler, and the people that live here the business owners, everybody that has pulled together to make this event possible," says Jennifer Payne.
