Tyler, Texas — The storms that swept through Saturday not only knocked down hundreds of trees but left many East Texans without power.

City officials say they are doing what they can to clear up the area as quickly as possible but for some people it's taking longer than expected.

We asked Precinct 3 Foreman, Andrew Smith, how many people were out of power because of all the fallen down trees and he said they are still finding people without power.

He was right. Mr. and Mrs. Driver live off of Farm Road 747 where they tell KETK is always the last area to get help after a storm.

Cecil Driver told KETK that, "they always preach out that the underprivileged and under people that need help first and, it didn't work."

The power went out at the Driver's home at 8P.M. on Saturday night and was not turned back on until this afternoon. Ann Driver told KETK that she called the power company nearly four times a day.

Ann Driver said, "how would you like it if your grandparents or mother and dad were in the same fix we are, no electricity."

Ann Driver told KETK that she had gone to the store and had a car full of groceries right before the storm hit.

All of the contents in her refrigerator and freezer had defrosted.

However, loss of power wasn't the only issue for the people of Jacksonville, but also the mess to clean up.

Smith told KETK that people can load trees onto a trailer and bring them to the Precinct 3 if they don't want to burn them.
