A Marshall ISD student was arrested Monday morning after a handgun and ammunition were found in his backpack.

The 9mm handgun was not loaded, Marshall police said.

The discovery by a school security officer occurred about 8 p.m. at the district’s Alternative Education Program campus, where the suspect is a senior.

The student, Jawone Washington, 19, was booked into the Harrison County Jail for “places weapons prohibited,” a 3rd-degree felony.

19? He was nineteen years old in high school?

Well he is an ADULT, charge him as AN ADULT.

Send a message to the students there that REAL PRISON awaits if you do such follishness.

I do suspect though he was going to sell it as it was unloaded and he had a box of ammo.
