Study Shows Less Mexican Immigrants in America

February 20, 2009 - 7:11pm
MEXICO—The economic downturn has cut Mexican migration in half.
Mexico's national statistics institute released a report today showing the number of legal and illegal immigrants leaving the country has fallen by more than 50 percent.
Authorities say the global economic downturn is the reason more Mexicans are finding work at home.
Currently an estimated 11.8 million Mexicans live in the united states.
