TYLER — Stunning new developments Friday in the controversy involving the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
On Tuesday, the breast cancer organization announced they would stop funding Planned Parenthood.
But, they changed their minds.
Donations poured in to the Susan G. Komen foundation following Tuesday's announcement that they would stop funding abortion provider Planned Parenthood.
Founder and CEO of the Susan G. Komen Nancy Brinker says, "Many of the grants we were doing with Planned Parenthood do not meet new standards of criteria for how we can measure our results and effectiveness in community."
Friday morning, KETK contacted the Tyler branch of Komen for a response.
But, while we were on the phone, word came down that the organization had reversed their decision.
The tyler branch had not yet heard of the new developments, and would not comment on the phone.
But, later told KETK, "The Komen Tyler affiliate does not currently fund Planned Parenthood. We have not received a funding application from Planned Parenthood for screening mammograms and we have not funded the organization."
However, on a national level, Komen gives 700-thousand dollars a year to the organization.
Meanwhile, those who donated to Komen in support of their decision to cut Planned Parenthood's funding are left wondering whether they will see any sort of refund.

PP provides 1 out of every 4 abortions in this country. PP does NOT do mammograms. It is ridiculous that SGKF gives money to PP at all.
I requested my donation to be refunded and still have not heard back from them -- I will need to do it through my credit card company I guess.
Komen made a wise choice to reconsider funding Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood is the only healthcare choice for many women. Donating to Komen as some sort of political statement is the wrong reason to make a CHARITABLE contribution. Why would anyone want to get a refund from an organization that does so much good for women who suffer from breast cancer? KETK should also note that many people have donated to Planned Parenthood to try to fill the gap left when Komen withdrew support.
