Suspected robber kills himself after short chase
DALLAS — Police say a suspected bank robber killed himself in a parking lot following a short chase.
The fatal shooting late Monday morning happened in the parking lot of a Dallas office complex. Police identified the suspect as 26-year-old Khalifa Tehran King.
The shooting happened several minutes after King, dressed all in black, tried to enter a bank. Employees, suspicious of his behavior, locked the bank doors before he could enter. They told authorities the same man tried to enter the bank Friday but was thwarted.
Police say King then fled the bank and refused to pull over when police tried to make a traffic stop. He eventually pulled into a business parking lot and appeared to surrender before shooting himself.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
