Swine Flu is National Emergency

WASHINGTON, D.C. - President Obama has declared the H1N1 flu outbreak a national emergency.

The White House says President Obama signed the disaster proclamation Friday night.

Federal health officials say swine flu is now widespread in 46 states.

It's killed more than 1,000 Americans, including almost 100 children, and it has put more than 20,000 people in the hospital.

The White House says the declaration is intended to prepare the country for a rapid increase in illness that may over-burden health care resources.

The latest figures from the Centers for Disease control show the H1N1 flu outbreak is still spreading and still attacking mostly the young, including 95% of college campuses.

The vaccine that was supposed to help protect the population is taking a lot longer than predicted to get into the hands of people who want it.

The Federal Government predicted there would be 100 million doses of vaccine against the new virus by now. As of today, there are just more than 11 million that have been shipped.

Texas has received about 831,000 doses of the vaccine.

President Obama Declares National Emergency Over Swine Flu Pandemic; But Why?

'According to the CDC, swine flu infections have already peaked, and the pandemic is on its way out. Peak infection time was the middle of October, where one in five U.S. children experienced the flu, says the CDC. Out of nearly 14,000 suspected flu cases tested during the week ending on October 10, 2009, 99.6% of those were influenza A, and the vast majority of those were confirmed as H1N1 swine flu infections.

Even though the H1N1 pandemic appears to have peaked out, U.S. President Barack Obama has now declared a national emergency over swine flu infections. The reasoning behind such a declaration? According to the White House, it's designed to "allow hospitals to better handle the surge in patients" by allowing them to bypass certain federal laws.

That's the public explanation for this, but the real agenda behind this declaration may be far more sinister.

'National “emergencies” are always good for “bypassing rules” and making things up on the fly. The hysteria is completely out of control. Meanwhile, remember that Obama’s children will not, as of yet, get a swine flu vaccination.

So let me get this straight. The H1N1 virus remains mild. The CDC reports that swine flu infections already peaked out in mid-October. There have been no new developments in swine flu that would be cause for alarm and no reason to suspect huge numbers of sick people flooding into the hospitals. And yet, for some reason, the Obama administration has declared a national pandemic emergency specifically for the purpose of speeding the ability of hospitals to process large masses of sick people through emergency medical triage tents?

What are these people not telling us?

Something doesn't add up here. Why would the U.S. government need to declare a national emergency to enable hospitals to handle a flood of sick people when there is no flood of sick people (and the pandemic seems to be fizzling out)?

This is more like the kind of preparation you might expect in advance of a biological terrorism attack, not for a flu that appears no more dangerous than the seasonal sniffles.

if the swine flu is breaking out so bad why can't the schools be closed again like the last time. Kids stopped being around each other and were kept home flu went away, what did the schools lose to much money. Seems like the flu went away though.But i guess like every other things the dollar is what talking forget about peoples health.

Many Kudos to nelson67. It's encouraging to come across someone who is awake to what's really transpiring in full view of everybody. How truly sad and unfortunate it is that most people go throughout everyday life with rose-colored blinders on, completely oblivious and unaware of the current situation and immediate dangers that threaten all of humanity.
