Sysco Food Services of East Texas Opens Today

October 7, 2008 - 6:25pm
LONGVIEW—A well-known food services company is setting up new headquarters in Longview, and along with new headquarters comes hundreds of new jobs.
Sysco Food Services of East Texas officially opened those new headquarters today.
Sysco will employ at least three hundred people immediately, and it plans to grow more in the future.
According to the Longview Economic Development Corporation, Sysco already invested thirty million dollars in its new headquarters here.
That's good news for the economy in Longview and all of Gregg County.
While many other cities are watching companies shut down, more are actually opening here, that has local officials and Sysco reps excited.
"We're just kind of enjoying the ride and we think it's going to be this way for a long time," Judge Bill Stoudt says.
"We're excited about being able to employ hundreds of people here," Brett Lindig, President and CEO of Sysco says.
