The State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR) End of Course Exams (EOC) became the graduation testing requirement beginning with students who were first enrolled in Grade 9 or below during the 2011-12 school year. Depending on their graduation program, students will take eleven to fifteen STAAR EOC assessments.

A student can earn one of three performance standards:
(1) Level I: Unsatisfactory Academic Performance;
(2) Level II: Satisfactory Academic Performance or
(3) Level III: Advanced Academic Performance.

In order to graduate, a student must achieve a cumulative score that indicates satisfactory performance (Level II).
Each student who took the STAAR, TAKS or EOC should have received a Confidential Student Report in the mail that indicates the test results on the End of Course. You can also access the results electronically using the Texas Assessment Student Portal and the Unique Access code provided on the bottom of the Confidential Student Report.

Retesting is
• required for students who did not meet the minimum score requirement,
• recommended for students who did not meet the Level II standard and
• available for students who would like to improve their score.
The next testing dates are July 9-13. Since these tests are cumulative and impact graduation plans, we appreciate your support as we help every student gain the best possible results. Thank you for your patience as we work through a new state assessment and planning for success. .

Summer TAKS Tutoring and Retest Information

The EXIT Level TAKS Retests will be administered at Pine Tree High School beginning at 8 a.m. each day. Please report to the PTHS Counseling Center by7:45 a.m. on the morning of your test. The test begins promptly at 8:00 am.

Summer Tutorial Schedule

PTHS will provide tutorial sessions for students who need help on the tests. Take every advantage of this opportunity to prepare for success!
 

Students may receive online tutorial help during summer school hours.

WHEN: 8:00 – 12:00 Monday through Thursday until July 5th

WHEN: In the computer lab in the 700 hall / ExCEL campus, which is at the corner of Northwest Drive and Fairmont Street.
