A soldier's pension: too great a price?

New report shows pension for veterans too costly.
Tyler — A pentagon study shows soldiers who put-in twenty years can retire with benefits and half their salary.
A committee apointed by the government contends that's too much to pay.
East Texans talk back on the report and how our fighting men and women have paid enough to deserve those benefits.

i'm a mother of a soldier. My son has fought for this country for 11 yrs. He has been deployed 5 times. Has put his life on the line for us, and now they want to take his benefits away, hiow dare they. He could die but couldn't drink when he went in and now they don't thnk he deaerves to keep what he fought for. Thier retirement is no different for them than for anyone else. If they start taking away thewse benefits now we wont a military.

Our Senator John Cornyan also wants to allow states to be able to file for bankruptcy and to quote him “so they can get out from under their pension and bond obligations.” OK FIREMAN, POLICEMAN, STATE TROOPERS, CORRECTIONAL OFFICERS IN OUR PRISONS, SCHOOL TEACHERS WHO VOTE REPUBLICAN, GUESS YOU DO NOT MIND LOSING YOUR PENSIONS ON TOP OF THE SS & MEDICARE THAT YOU HAVE PAID INTO ALL OF YOUR LIVES SO I ASK WHAT WILL YOU DO WHEN EVERYTHING YOU HAVE WORKED FOR IS TAKEN AWAY FROM YOU BY THE GOP

Here's an idea, you fat cats in Washington that think it's too much to offer our service men and women to put thier lives on the line then grab yourself a rifle, pocket full of hand grenades, ammo, and then waltz up to the front line. Cause your all that will be left to defend this country if thats what your pansy asses thinks of these brave americans defending you now.
One other question if you don't mind, what is your pension worth for government service and how long must you serve to get it?
