TYLER — According to a new survey by the Pew Research Center, many Americans believe the rich are more intelligent and more hardworking than the average American.
More than 80% of Americans surveyed say they admire people who get rich by working hard.
KTBB's Garth Maier asks: Are the wealthy, harder workers and smarter than most?

I'd say on average, yes. The weathier people also tend to be more personable, more efficient at their jobs, they expect more of themselves than others. Successful people tend to create opportunities instead of waiting for them to happen.
Are the wealthy that much harder working and smarter than average to deserve their gains? The top 1% have 20% of America's wealth - a 20 to 1 ratio to the average. They don't work 20 times harder and aren't 20 times smarter. They've had a 100% raise while the average had a 10% cut. Mainly wealth is gained by taking a little bit from the people who work for them and, IMHO, they take too much in an anti-biblical way. The Bible says, "A worker is worthy of their wages."
