TYLER —
We have received many comments asking why the question concerns pit bulls instead of boxers.
According to an original report by the Associated Press, the child was attacked by pit bulls. It has since been corrected as Boxers.
At the time of the KTBB Talkback segment, it was still being reported as a pit bull attack.
We apologize for any confusion.
An 18-month-old boy remains in serious condition after he was attacked by four of his grandfather's Boxers.
Bob and Kaci chat with KTBB's Garth Maier about how dangerous aggressive breeds can become around small children.
East Texans answer the question, "Do you think it should be illegal to have pit bulls around children?"

Review the statistics on line - then in fact you will discover your own ignorance and stupidity....
Rattatooey, take your own advice. Quit using the dogbitelaw.com website as reference. The page is created by lawyers who specialize in seeking monetary gain for victims of dog bite attacks. They are well known for skewing reports and helping fund less than steller "studies" that have been discredited. Why not google the CDC's 20 year bite study? Better yet, just go here to see it:http://www.ketknbc.com/news/talkback/ban-on-pit-bulls#comment-66150 The ONLY peerreviewed study on dog bites.
When you take the time to read the study, please pay particular attention to the CDC's stance on "breed aggressive". The CDC believes their study shows that breed has nothing to do with "aggressiveness" and breed bans will NOT have an impact on dog to human attacks. I believe I'll take the work of a 20-year, peer-reviewed and accepted study performed the CDC over some ambulance chasing attorneys "study".
You must be referring to your OWN neighborhood. MOST owners of these dogs (meaning Pits not the Boxers that did this) are very responsible and good citizens. When you and the others responsible for this FALSE reporting on Pit Bulls are willing to learn what a Pit Bull really is, perhaps then you should speak up. Until then, just shut your mouth. GET EDUCATED and stop believing all the crap the news media is putting out there. People like you are the problem not a part of the solution.
Guess what lady? The dogs were BOXERS, no relation to Pit Bulls. http://crimeblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2012/01/tarrant-county-toddler-... But you keep calling for a ban on "these vicsious killers" so that other dogs can continue to attack while people like you ignore the real problem of how we treat dogs and raise them to become "these viscious killers". Meanwhile, the "reporter" has deliberately chosen to not update this page with the fact they were BOXERS.
only your response is unintelligent and irresponsible...
Instead, just removed uneducated people. They are far more dangerous than any dog I have ever encountered and do much more damage.
for their owners actions. I have had all of mine animals around children and never had problems. So obviously its not the animals its the owners! such non-educated people!
They are not vicious killers. No dog should be blamed for its actions bc in reality its how they were trained by their owners. If they are not trained properly of course they will not know the difference between right and wrong, same as children. I have owned pits & boxers and none of mine ever showed aggression because I train them properly. Its not their fault. People need to be banned from owning animals if they can't train and care for them properly, the animals should not be punished
