Protesters say Free Market not a level playing field
Tyler — Occupy Wall Street protesters shouting-down capitalism. Many of them believe the government should have more control and give free college and free retirement.
They claim the business world is not fair to all. East Texans talk-back on protestor's claims with our news partner: KTBB and host Garth Maier.

Apparently, no occupiers want to defend their stance here. Its easy to be vocal and make big exaggerated claims when your screaming from a crowd. Articulating your case in writing is a different story and would force a discussion on ideas, not just division politics.
Life in general is not fair. Do those who say capitalism is unfair really believe socialism is?? What is fair about taxing the productive and redistributing wealth to those that are not?
Freedom, I agree. We haven't had anything close to a free market in a long time. But don't forget about our psuedo-Socialistic, called Keynsian Economics, that we've had for decades and our leaders and the Fed praise and cling to like rats on a sinking ship. Yet a more honest answer I say is that capitalism or the free market is the least unfair of any system we've ever had. OWS wants communism which is about as fair as slavery or serfdoms
The crony capitalism that we have today is far from a free market. In a free market we would not have a fiat currency, manipulated interest rates, government subsidies, handouts to oil companies or corn farmers, laws against peaceful behavior, or the bloated power-hungry government that we have today. With impediments to real prosperity removed, the American people could thrive and prosper as we once did.
A free and competitive market allocates resources in the most efficient manner. Each person has the right to offer goods and services to others on the free market. The only proper role of government in the economic realm is to protect property rights, adjudicate disputes, and provide a legal framework in which voluntary trade is protected. All efforts by government to redistribute wealth, or to control or manage trade, are improper in a free society.
Unfortunately, we don't have a free market.
