Church leaders want more federal control of illegal imigration

They claim harsh state laws aimed at illegals is hurting their message of charity
Tyler — Roman Catholic bishops, joined by Presbyterian and Lutheran leaders, are supporting the Justice Department's legal challenge to Arizona's tough immigration law.
Attorneys for the religious leaders argue that a patchwork of state laws could hurt the religious mission to serve immigrants, by essentially criminalizing charity, according to the brief.

Religious leaders should be about God's work. Which is spreading the gospel. Very few are doing that, or even know what the gospel is.
What harsh laws. The state laws are only re-enforcing federal law and established deportation methods. They are not advocating harsh or cruel treatment and to my knowledge deny needed care or food to them.
Even Jesus told the Christians to obey Caeser's laws; maybe these leaders could find that in the Bible!
