Large number of graduates either under or unemployed

A weak labor market already has left half of young college graduates either jobless or underemployed in positions that don't fully use their skills and knowledge.

Young adults with bachelor's degrees are increasingly scraping by in lower-wage jobs - waiter or waitress, bartender, retail clerk or receptionist, for example - and that's confounding their hopes a degree would pay off despite higher tuition and mounting student loans.

what is

There are too many "OTHER" degrees that are nothing but feel-good awards bestowed by liberal professors in non-essential subjects in order to perpetuate their continued employment. In obama's economy, even Math, Engineering, Computer Tech, Business, and Science graduates may have to start somewhere at other than their desired career; but they will have a better chance than someone with a liberal arts (think gender studies) degree.
