East Texans talk-back on how long people should be on disability
Tyler — Once the 99-week unemployment benefits expired, disability claims shot through the roof! There isn't a time limit on that entitlement, which means, once a person is on disability, they almost always remain on disability.
Should there be limited time to receive disability benefits? East Texans talk-back on the topic to our news partner: KTBB and host Garth Maier.

No. If you're hurt at work, you spend time in the hospital. This can sometimes take up to a year or more before there's even a full determination that your disability is permanent. Since both hospital bureaucracy & governmental bureaucracy is so slow, by the time that a decision is made, the time limit can expire & leave legitimately disabled persons to fall thru the cracks in the system. Limits will only encourage stall tactics from the bureaucrats & politicians. We all know how much they care.
