East Texans talk-back on idea of making physician-assisated suicide legal

A push for legalizing "physician-assisted suicide" is under way in half-a-dozen states. Supporters say: there's a need for doctors to prescribe mentally competent, dying individuals with the medications to end their own lives.

East Texans talk-back on the idea with our news partner: KTBB and host Garth Maier.

This, like abortion, is just another attempt to cheapen the value of human life. S if our seniors don't pass aquality of life test they're urged or required to assisted suicide? I can hear it now, "grandma and grampa are in the way, so let's humanely put them down."

This doesn't sit well with me, but I do think everyone needs to have a living will with instructions about final care. That is a different subject, however, than assisted suicide.

Howard, I think you are as unhappy and as miserable as your photograph depicts. Where did you get the idea that christians (Not religious people - big difference) were afraid to die. I am a christian, I am certainly not afraid to die. I am certainly not foolish enough to dispute the existance of God. Here is a secular question for you to answer with your foolish wisdom. On and under the Earth, it is estimated that there is about 332,500,000 cubic miles of water. Where did it come from? WELL?

Hell, Rattatooey, that is my "happy" photograph. I'm sorry you don't like it. On the water question, how do you know all that water is there, and who cares where it came from. Maybe it came from Noah's flood.

Now there is a reply that is compatable with your intellect, if that is not an exageration of what floats through your mind.
Psalm 14 The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good.
I guess that's you Howard. Take your cause up with God, whom you are foolish enough to hold in contempt.

Rataphooey, if you're irrational about religion then, what other areas of thought do you have that are askew? Those of us that recognize you as a religious fanatic then, all your thought is brought into question.

Charles - what a foolish person you are! You call me a religious fanatic because I believe there is a God. Only a deranged person would claim otherwise. I suppose that would place you right where you belong. Having nothing of value to contribute, you resort to name calling and branding. Usually 5 year olds employ those tactics. Here is what God has to say on the matter.
Psalm 14:1
The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, their deeds are vile. Take your cause up with God.

All of us are aware of " remove the tube'.
BUT do you realize that is means 'allow this person to starve to death there in the hospital'???

Betcha don't.

We are kinder to our dogs & cats than to our ailing folks...they have to suffer.

Boy, that is a catch-all for Christianity.

I bet that that is really kind, hey??

Watch your Mom starve to death.
Good work people.

Just because religious people are afraid to die, because their whimsical god may have changed the rules on them, doesn't mean the rest of us are. Death cocktails should be available to anyone who wants one.

How strange indeed, that you are willing to breath the air that God provides, consume the abundant blessings He bestowed upon the Earth, and yet you hold Him in absolute contempt. I would change your mind if I were you, before you are subject to a very uncomfortable interview with the God of all creation.
15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, etc..Read it and weep

But you are just quoting a book that was put together by a bunch of religious zealots who had an agenda. To me, it means nothing.
