TYLER — One Texas judge ruled the Trans-Canada pipeline has the right of "eminent domain," knocking down the challenge of any farmer who has a problem with the pipeline running through his property
KTBB's Garth Maier asks: Should eminent domain apply for privately owned oil pipelines?

Eminent domain is so wrong... not just for private companies, but for anyone to come in and take over property that has been in your family for years, land that provides your ways of living, any land YOU own is just wrong. We need to stand up against any and every one that thinks there is nothing wrong with this idea. People vote and make sure this doesn't happen to you or your family.
Yep...big oil, big money, greed, payments under the table...yep...they trump the rights of someone who has owned and worked his land for years...by the way, folks...if you think the pipeline will bring thousands of permanent jobs and will benefit the US with oil...you are dumber than rocks! The pipeline would bring oil shale to Houston where it would be refined, THEN IT IS SHIPPED IN TANKERS AROUND THE WORLD...little, if any, is earmarked to be used in the US...investigate before you believe!!
" Privately owned oil pipeline " means its a for profit business. I don't feel eminent domain should be used for that. I feel that should be the yard stick for these matters. Keep it simple.
Try the GOP siding with the oil companies, they are the one pushing this pipeline and just remember this is a foreign company using Eminent domain in this country for their profits that the GOP Court ruled in favor for big foreign oil companies.
No no no! Unbelievable that our elected representives would allow a foreign corporation to take a property owners land by right of eminent domain.
My money is on the ACLU siding with the oil companies over the private property rights of the farmers and ranchers.
