Federal judge rejects state law against illegals
Nebraska town the latest in long line of communities where the feds thwart the will of the people
Tyler — A federal judge rejects part of a city ordinance in Fremont Nebraska that sought to ban hiring illegal immigrants and renting property to them.
Much of the ordinance could still take effect next month. Judge Laurie Smith Camp of Federal District Court said part of the ordinance that would have denied housing occupancy permits to illegal immigrants is discriminatory.
Just the latest in federal attempts to thwart the will of voters in many states looking to stop or curb illegal immigration.
