Tyler — Food stamp recipients reach an all time high of 47-million. Up from 32-million when President Obama first took office.

If you do not want to pay your employees enough to keep them off of the welfare rolls in the first place then you have no business being in business.
at one point many people told me to 'go on foodstamps'. I said 'it was bad enuf to be poor, but I could not look at myself in the mirror if I did that".I worked 5 partime jobs.( yes, McDonalds too). It taught me a strong lesson in self reliance. Yes, then I gained Masters in Research as well this way...paid for by me as I crossed the stage. If I can, others can too. The song title"How Much do you want it" says it all.
PS. I was a single mom then too.
Ask the demorats why they do not want voter ID? Illegal aliens that pay absolutely $0.00 income tax get $30,000.00 in a refund! Where is your Job....just asking! All for a vote that will keep you dependent on the govt. If you are dependent they have a job...If you have a job you don't need them and they don't have a job.

Ask Republicans why they do not want poor and elderly people to vote. There is not one case in the history of Texas where an illegal immigrant has voted...NOT ONE. Where are the jobs the T-Publicans promised in 2010 if we elected them to Congress....JUST ASKING? Is your employer lowering your wages and benefits but the company is making huge profits and the ceo receiving a bonus....organize a union and get your share of the profits made with your labor.
I am middle america that lost my savings, 401k, and was homeless after being laid off of a 60k per year job. I could not make it without food stamps and housing at this point. Yes, I have a car I bought when I had more than enough money to pay the payment and believe me I am not "hopping" in it without thinking about how I am going to keep making the payments so that I can get back and forth to work at my part time job...It is not as easy to get help as some ppl think!
Meanwhile ....we give Egypt 5.5 billion, Israel 6 billion, and on and on, and on. We have a military 7 times larger than the next largest, a government payroll that pays 1 in four Americans directly, and a large private sector that exists solely to supply the government. We subsidize agriculture, auto, health, media, aircraft, steel, education, and with 16 trillion in debt and over 60 trillion in liabilty it is safe to say that we don't have a socialist nation, we have a FAILED socialist nation.
The left thinks we're better off than we were 4 yrs ago. They also think it's good more people, especially blacks, are on food stamps. Hmmm, so the left thinks poorer people, better if they're a minority, means a better economy. They also think more gov't and gov't dependancy, which means fewer rights, is a good thing.
I feel they should go back to the old ways,, do away with the food stamps and give commodities, you cant sell that food for drug money.
Almost every hourly wal-mart (china mart) employee has a lone star card because you and me are making up the diff. in what they should be paid to keep them off of welfare. China mart isn't the only corporation that we subsidize either. These corporations should pay higher taxes to cover their employees on welfare.
When you hear the high school girls planning to get food stamps and WIC and several other programs and having babies to qualify you know something is wrong with the system. They should be planning for a future with a degree or at least a trade to get a job and earn money and be productive. If used properly and the people who really need and deserve it receive it then it would be a good program.
I feel like there should be something done about food stamps because too many people are manipulating the system to get food stamps. I see so many people getting them and then hopping in a brand new suv. People that really do need them can't get them. They wanted me to sell my car for food. some people have too many kids or claiming other kids just to get more food stamps. they only gave my parents 10 dollars a month. There should be a limit.
Food stamps have been a huge help in this time of recession.
Folks can't eat bootstraps.
