Must be nice to receive food stamps. I am a single mom of two teenage kids on a tight income and i make too money. People needs to worry about those who are going hungry

I think if you accept government assistance, it's okay to put some controls on what is distributed. No alcohol, no tobacco, It seems rather mean-spirited, though, to some extent. I do think the same type of controls should be placed on hand-outs to bankers or mortgage companies though. For instance, if drug testing is necessary for poor people receiving food stamps, then all those bankers and financial high-fliers who received government bail out money should be subject to drug-testing as well

Food stamps are a blatant, inefficient, and divisive form of redistributing wealth and should be ended. See how quickly "help" from the government turns into control.

Once they get you arguing the details of what should be free, you accept the premise that it's the government's job to give out free stuff they collected from someone else.
