New census stats show wider gap between rich and poor

A new report released by the the census bureau shows a widening gap between the rich and poor in america.

Education seems to play the biggest factor;  the lower the education, the lower the income.

Poor parents beget poor performing kids. More correctly hold their kids to a low standard, if not teaching them to depend on social programs, teaching them to expect and demand them. These parents demand their kids depend on social programs. Lack of disipline, social promotion, and parents that don't care has harmed education mostly hurting minorities.

Yes, education is the great equalizer AND we need to highly value education. A misconception is that education is getting worse. Actually completion rates have increased over the last 40 years, in other words, education has gotten better. However it has not improved fast enough for our need. Good jobs today require higher education. Lastly, the best research indicates that student success improves with face time with a teacher - longer school day, more school days, and smaller classes.
