East Texans talk-back on more possible government involvement in their lives
Tyler---one anti-smoking group wants legislature to look at a state-wide ban on smoking in public places.
Many Texas cities have smoking bans of their own.
But this one would be a state-wide mandate.
East Texans offer their two cents on the idea of a new state law on smoking.

Just another right taken away from us. And people complain about Obama?? Funny.
What is ironic is that smoking, which cigerettes are legal, is being banned, while BOOZE,which is illegal if a person goes over the limit, which they do,and harm others on the road is okay.GO in most any restuarant in tyler, and get drunk......but don't smoke!! Stupid is only word I can describe it.
Oh good, just what Texas needs, more Nanny State BS.
I have a better idea, how about all these private property disrespecting, bad science worshiping scoundrels pack their carpetbags and move back to whatever "Progressive Paradise" they slithered out of and leave Texas to the REAL Texans who believe, among other things, that if they don't like the way you run your business they can always go elsewhere!
well said next they will want to ban wiping your ban
Is that the proper role of government? And this legislator is quoted as saying he's been "pushing this ball" for years.
Anyone who would back this idea should be considered a trader in America. Those that do not wish to our Constitution to be the law leave! Otherwise stop allowing your “personal bias’ and preferences” to give the government more rule. I tell you now, you will be sorry because next; the government will be coming into your homes making sure your eating healthy, etc. Those that want the government dictating personal choices should be either shot or forced to leave the U.S.
