16 of the 19 hijackers on 9/11 were from Saudia Arabia. I don't recall us ever attacking Saudia Arabia.
Saddam was crazy, but he was not a religious person and his government was secular. As much I despised him, he did keep Iran in check.
Can anyone here make a cogent argument that the region is better off or more stable for our military interference? I just don't see it.
The only failing of W on Iraq & Afghanistan was not totally annihilating both populations and leaving the whole area a surface of fused silica... that would have been a major improvement for the area and no troops would have had to be sacrificed!
bush, rumsfeld, cheney, rice, powell (who was dupped, along with the rest of us) all LIED openly and often about WMD's in Iraq...calling bush a "good man" is beyond comprehension and shows that someone spent 8 years with their head burried in the sand. bush left office leaving a whopping deficit, plans in place to coddle the rich with tax breaks, and a mess for President Obama to clean up...Obama got bin Laden, not bush...you die-hard repubs listen to lies and can't stand the truth!
Like Ronald Reagan once said. Our liberal friends are not ignorant. They just know so much that isnt so.
Bush made the wrong choices, trning his back on his conservative base. Obama went down the same road. Most likely, if he wins, Mitt will too. Assuming Mitt wins, you can bet that before the vote count is completed, they may wait until after Jan 3, blame for the continuing bad economy will be placed on him and Obama will still be blameless.
So all you up-tight die-hard ultra-conservative teavangelical repub types can't stand bush...well, how do you justify supporting willard, who intends to, as President Obama said, take us back to bush policies, but this time they'll be on STEROIDS? I met a woman today who said she didn't like much of willard's message (and would be terribly affected by his health cuts), but just because he was a repub, she'd vote for him...how crazy (and un-American) can you get?!? So many crazies for willard!
That's just it. Under obama we never left Bush economics which was the same as Clinton economics. It didn't work under Bush or Obama and it won't work under Mitt. You want to stick to the socialist ideals that got us here and you call me crazy?
George Bush is a good man and he did the right thing in Iraq and Afghanistan. Freedom must be defended and he did just that. As for spending money, Mr Obama has spent more than anyone in history. What needs to happen is to exile all liberals to China. They should love it there seeing its a communist country.
Had to respond to the "exile all liberals to China" crack...if your side, the side that wants to take us back to bush-era disasters, wants to make everyone fend for themselves, have an elitist buffoon in the White House (willard mitt!), you won't have to send us anywhere...willard will bring us to the brink of a dictatorship in favor of the rich quicker than you can blink an eye. It would be so refreshing if posters like you would think before writing...bush, et al, needs to be in jail...period!
I never said George Bush was perfect but he had good intentions. He doesnt belong in jail. Our founding fathers intended for our country to be a republic where everyone pulls their own weight. Our country is not perfect. However, it was never intended for everyone to live the same via redistribution of wealth. We are seeing more and more of this (The Occupy demonstrations) I have personally always believed in a flat tax so everyone pays the same percentage regardless of ones income.
rghall - your words reveal your ignorance! The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have done nothing to make us safer. Instead, 5 or 6,000 of our finest and bravest have died in vain. Tens of thousands of others have been permanently crippled in these assaults on other sovereign nations. Bush attacked these countries based on false information about "Weapons of Mass Destruction". He also did it because, (His Words) "They were trying to kill my dad." When small men cast long shadows, it's nearly suset."
It would be interesting to know just what your solution would be when a power hungry Saddam Hussien attacks two of its neighbors and is thought to be developing dangerous weapons. The other one attacked us outright. So i guess your solution is to just do nothing and hope the threat goes away. Our troups that were killed did not die in vain dispite what you and Harry Reid want to believe.
And rightly so. Two unfunded wars that accomplished nothing except going into debt to the Chinese and maiming and killing some of our military's finest soldiers? We spent billions upon billions every day for those wars. For absolutely nothing, except he showed up his dad. Good grief.
OF COURSE GEORGE BUSH IS TO BLAME - WE ALL KNOW THAT - THIS MAN IS A DISGRACE TO THE NATION - IF POSSIBLE, EXILE HIM AND HIS FAMILY TO A FOREIGN LAND. OR, AT LEAST GET HIM OUT OF TEXAS - MAYBE HE COULD TAKE RICK PERRY WITH HIM!
