Tyler — Brazosport ISD practically doing away with the dresscode: by allowing earrings, tattoos, long hair, facial hair. Are dresscodes more a problem than solution?

NO-easing on restrictions= new competitions,GANG colors now, richer kids getting more expensive stuff. I agree about the rear ends but parents are powerless about what kids do in school( try telling a teen what to do ).Eventually standards become INTERIOR rather than required.
Kids respond to adult supervision and even are more secure in it.. Adults are supposed to set a standard, aren't they?? It is said today that peers are the models for kids.
If you allow free rein. You get it!!!
Animals do not have the ability to reason....rules and regs. can not be taught to animals. Tax money is wasted by requiring animals to attend school, save the $$!
No, easing the dress code will not cut down on distractions in the high schools. What would is requiring the male students to wear their pants covering their rear ends. There's no excuse for allowing them to walk the halls with their pants falling off or being held up by one hand while they juggle their books with the other. It's a fad that never went away and someone needs to put a stop to it, at least in the high school setting. Outside the school, it's up to them and their parents.
