Prayer before a game is not respecting one church over another, defering to the same, or pursecuting anyone who does not participate. So how is it in violation of the First Amendment? Maybe the separation that was read into it by the Supreme Court during the 50's, but not the First Amendment.

I agree that prayer before, during or after anything is an individual's right...but let's suppose that there is a football player who is not a Christian...who worships another way, i.e., a Jew, Muslim, or even one who does not believe in Baptist/Methodist/Presbyterian, etc. theology. Out of respect for the beliefs of others, a moment of silence for players and those in the stands is more appropriate. NO ONE is denying anyone their belief system utilizing a silent moment.

Prayer before a game violates the Establishment clause of the first amendment. The Gov't is not allowed to pick a god, or even say if there is a god or not. Silence is the only neutrality.

Freedom FROM ReligionFoundation, not Fredom OF Religion. Kinda speeks to their intent doesn't it?

I definitely support prayer before the football game over the p.a.!!!!!

Prayer is the foundation of our country. People who believe prayer should be kept in public places, functions, need to rise up against the people that oppose it. Think it would be a showdown and we would have prayer, again.
