TYLER — On Tuesday, Reverend Fred Luter was elected as the first African American president of the Southern Baptist Convention in its 167 year history.
KTBB'S Garth Maier asks: "Do you think racism in America is becoming a thing of the past?"

Let's start by saying that to say racism is on the decline isn't saying it's gone like those on the left are despirit to imply is being said. We'll be able to tell with party this man supports by how Jessie Jackson and Sharpton label him. If they say he's a role model, Democrat. If they say he's a house slave, like they did Powell, or uncle tom, Republican. A better indicator that racism is in decline is that I've noticed more interracial couples, and yes I think that's a good thing.
Why don't Whites go to a poor Black neighborhood and pose this question...why don't concerned Whites trade places with a Black family for even one day to see how "the other side" has to live...why don't White parents change places with Black parents and try to navigate looking for work and being rejected, trying to get a good education or critical medical care for their children...then have a rational discussion about how "good" many Black families have it...bet you won't do it.
