Should Congress bail out the USPS?

The United States Postal Service is billions of dollars in debt. Technology and private businesses are running the USPS into the ground. Should Congress step in and bail out the USPS, or would that just be prolonging the inevitable?

KETK's Kaci Koviak and KTBB's Garth Maier hear what East Texans have to say on the issue.

WHY BAILOUT USPS?????
WHY WOULD THEY USE TAX PAYERS MONEY TO FUND THE AMERICAN DREAM( NO LAYOFFS+ PENSION) , WHILE MILLIONS OF AMERICANS ARE JOBLESS. WHAT MAKES THE USPS AGENCY SO SPECIAL THAN THE REGULAR TAXPAYING AMERICAN WHO IS JOBLESS AND HOMELESS. ALL OF YOU ARE JUST THINKING OF YOUR MAIL THE NEXT DAY WHILE MILLIONS ARE LOOKING FOR JOBS.

Congress had BETTER bailout USPS. They are the SECOND LARGEST EMPLOYER in the country. If they can bailout wall st. but not USPS it PROVES CONCLUSIVELY that they are hijacked by the bankers and do not care about THE AMERICAN WORKER

The fact that I can get a letter from my mailbox to any address in the country in two or three days for 42 cents is a miracle. The alternative would be to use UPS or Fedex. I priced out a Fedex delivery of a 1.6 oz. envelope from Grapevine to Alba. It would cost $12.13. At even twice their current rate the Postal Service would be a bargain. The solution is to fix the Postal Service not let it fail.

Thank you. The USPS really is a bargain for the consumer and we need to fix it and keep it alive.

Oh sure. We have bailed out Chrysler twice, why not the post office too?
Also when individual people make bone headed decisions and go broke, lets bail them out too. Tax payers wont mind paying the extra taxes. Its Obamas vision for America. "Oh Yes We Can"
