Imagine trying to build a house and erecting a part of the roof with only pieces of the walls built, then add a little more wall and then a little more roof and so on. The TAKS curriculum was like that. Each year bits and pieces were taught to kids, and the next year similar bits and pieces were taught. No one thing was wholy taught before going to the next. Kids now have more to learn than when we were in school. They need stronger more complete lessons.

Y'a know, our President is right, school is boring and teachers who adopt a standardized test as an outline for a teaching plan simply aren't doing their job. Back in the day before money was the answer to educating, and teachers taught classrooms with 30+ students using a blackboard and chalk only and there were no free meals and your ride to school was by bicycle. Back when pencil, paper and a notebook were your supplies we got bored too, so bored that we did classwork just to pass the time.
