East Texans talk back on whether or not the bill will curb voter fraud.

One of many pieces of legislation in Austin aimed toward illegal immigration: Texas Voter ID Bill mandates voters have a valid photo I.D.

East Texans talk-back on this bill and if they think, if signed by Governor Perry, this would make a difference on voter turnout and helping curb fraud.

I do not see the need to spend extra tax dollars for the Id that the state will be required to pay for when there is no legal basis for it. If the county clerks are doing their jobs and verifying the information on the voter registration applications prior to issuing a voter registration card there would not be concern at all with the current laws on the books. Supreme Court will probably over turn it anyway.

It spends non-existant tax dollars to create a pointless beauracracy that will only complicate the voting process. And I bet if it we had a Democratic lead legislature and Governor, You'd think it was a great idea.

No, you are wrong I look at the legal basis for the need of any new legislation and how it will affect common working class citizens.

I don't worry about voter fraud on the individual level. My concern is the computerized/digital voter machines. They haven't been proven tamper proof and can be easily hacked into. A paper trail that the voter is in possession of needs to be established in order to confirm the votes in case of a recount.

I think it's a great idea and a long time past due. Of course it's not going to stop all the fraud since fake/forged ID's are readily available to illegals. I think the best solution would be to forbid voting instructions in Spanish or any language besides English. If you're a natural born US citizen and old enough to vote you went to school here so you should know how to speak, read and write English. Naturalized citizens must prove they have a working knowledge of English.

AMEN BROTHER!!!!
