East Texans talk-back on last night's VP debate

A CNN poll shows 48% of voters who watched the vice presidential debate think Paul Ryan won last night's contest.

44% say vice president Biden was victorious. East Texans talk-back to our news partner: KTBB and host Garth Maier on who they think came out on top.

Joe Biden knew his facts. Ryan just wants to act like the "wunderkid" who thinks he knows everything but knows precious litttle. Republicans have always underestimated Biden. He looks like a genius on foreign policy compared to Ryan.
I agree with Don on the pension issue. Republicans only want the CEOs to have any type of financial security in their old age.

I have a brother-in-law like Joe Biden, you know, obnoxious and mostly a big-mouth jerk. You could never best him in any argument. If he began to think you were right and he was wrong, he just got more rude to make his point. With a record that only stinks, democrats have nothing to stand-on. Even Snyderbroad realizes her "free ride" is over.

Oh, Charles..."Snyderbroad" is too much of a lady to call you what would be appropriate for someone of your (lack of) character...let's just all wait for the final count Nov. 6th to see who wins, shall we? As for a free ride, Charles, you might be surprised to know that being a 1% is a good thing...bet you never thought a 1%er could be a proud Democrat, too. As for continuing to converse with blockheads, I'm off KETK until Nov. 6th... (and, YOU FIT YOUR BROTHER-IN-LAW'S DESRIPTION TO A "T"!)

Any school Teacher in Texas and throughout the US along with all state employees, Fire Fighters and Police Officers will be voting to eliminate their retirement pensions as they are and their benefits if they vote for any Republican. It is the agenda of the Republican Party, ALEC, and the Texas Public Policy Foundation to turn all Pensions of public sector employees into a 401K plan. VOTE A STRAIGHT DEMOCRAT TICKET. Still, the interests pushing for change are powerful and persistent. So, the Legislature ordered the Teacher Retirement System and the Employees Retirement System to take a closer look at their funds. The TRS report was released this week.If teachers were to invest their retirement benefits, TRS estimates that 92 percent would do worse than the current system. Thursday, September 20, 2012

You may recall that there is a campaign afoot to “reform” (i.e. radically change) Texas’ public pensions for teachers and other public employees. Basically, the reformers want to abandon the defined-benefit model, which guarantees certain retirement benefits, and replace it with a defined-contribution system built potentially on self-managed accounts such as 401(k)s. http://blog.chron.com/kuffsworld/2012/09/2075-

The Chair laid out Interim Charge #5:

The House Committee on Pensions, Investments & Financial Services, I attended these hearings in Austin, Texas on September 12th and 13th, 2012 and there was not one Representative from the Teachers Retirement System there nor a Rep. from any of the Teachers Associations to speak against their Pensions being changed from a Defined Benefit Plan (PENSION) to a Defined Contribution Plan (401K).

The Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF)is a conservative think tank based in Austin,Texas.
Much more significant pension reform will be needed in order to retain solvency and keep the state’s pension systems above water. To significantly reduce the rising expenses of defined benefit pensions and ensure a more equitable public retirement system, the following steps should be taken:• Freeze the current defined benefit pension plans.A move from a defined benefit to a defined contribution pension.

Wow! CNN too the poll and it showed Ryan did better? Isn't that like Obama saying he supports Romney?

In all seriousnes, the perception of who won will depend on one's political bias. I'm going to watch the rebroadcast just to see what foot in mouth stuff Joe Bite-me says.

Bless his little Howdy Doody face, paulie got Bidened last evening! Granted, it is hard for anyone to put frosting on a cake full of lies, but paulie tried...and Biden hacked paulie's fluff to pieces. Don't bother with outright laughter or an insatiable thirst, when it came to facts and punching holes in lies, Biden did the job. And...don't count out Obama's debate skills...now that he knows how willard works, we will all see a different Obama who can hit hard on willard's disastrous plans.

I want to vote vp Biden

That's too bad.
