Some women veterans suing the DOD. They want "front line action."

The Defense Department had been slowly moving towards lifting combat restrictions on women. Women are now allowed to serve in existing roles such as medics, military police, helicopter pilots, and intelligence officers at the battalion level.

However, women are still banned from serving as infantry, armor, and special operations forces. East Texans talk-back on: women on the front lines, to our news partner: KTBB and host Garth Maier.

It is not anything about capabilities.
As a psychotherapist, I know that men are hardwired to protect women. Therefore when a shell is coming in the guys will instinctively protect women at the cost of their lives.

I want my son to ignore this & watch for himself, but I know, as a male he can not be trained out of it.
In an Army , it takes 8 persons to support l fighting man.
Therefore keep women in this type role.

I worked at Fort Hood in Darnall Hospital in the Psych section.

What is the diff. in a woman in a coimbat role in the military and a woman on the police force in Houston, Dallas, LA, New York ?

Who am I or you to tell any woman what she should or should not do? Any person who signs up for military service should expect to be in a combat role at any tiime or do not sign up. If a woman wants to risk her life for our Nation then let her.

Please don't dishonor our nation by placing women in combat roles. We have sunk very low in many other aspects of life, don't add this to the list. Women are subject to very different outcomes if held in captivity, as everyone knows. The fact that we are even asking this question should be a matter of great shame and disgrace to all of us. Are women capable of such things; of course they are, but some 14 year old males are too, surely we will never consider that as an option!Long live Chivalry.
