Coffee City has no property taxes, and only one real source of income…alcohol. But if Tyler ever goes wet, they become another Big Sandy.

So, at last month’s council meeting, a property tax was discussed.
And that led to the formation of Concerned Citizens for Coffee City.

Mayor Tony Moore says there won’t be a property tax vote, or any tax while he’s mayor. The Concerned Citizens worry about what comes after that.

I guarantee you, if they had not had the meeting and formed the CCCC, the property tax WOULD have been on the agenda and passed. (that being said) "They were just trying to save the city!" That city should be unincorporated. It sucks money down a hole and provides no benefits to the citizens that the county would not provide in a far more professional and democratic manner.

How funny that now Frank Ross was arrested just the other day for voter fraud in Winona. e voted there same time as he voted illegally for himself in Coffee City.

News 56 has reported many times on corruption of Coffee City but for some reason Texas legal system lets things ride long enough the problems go away as if the people just forget.
Ex Mayor, Frank Ross was not a resident of Coffee City but did vote in municipal elections as well as did his wife and who knows who else. Same situation as Winona, but haven't heard about anything done about those illegal voters either.
What about the Warrens and suspicions of other illegal acts they may have done?
