TYLER — Races in the Democratic and Republican primaries in Smith County had big-margin wins. Most candidates won their seats by ten points.
This includes all the candidates endorsed by the Smith County grassroots organizations.
Cary Nix talks about his win.

Wow! Worried Voter seems to be dragging an awful lot of bitterness around, is short on specifics and facts, and eager to name- call. This is a old worn-out page from the "old boys" status quo play book. If not for many of these conservative officials, there's no telling WHERE the tax rate would be! The days of using the Road and Bridge Dept. fund as a slush fund ARE OVER because of these people. Just look to the millions of dollars diverted from County roads to LOOP 49 and you will see why the roads have been underfunded. The Old Boys who voted to take our property tax dollars to use as bait to the state to get the two-lane toll road Loop 49 started were VOTED OUT! The county budget and check register are now online so we can see what how the county spends our money and illegals can no longer get prescription drugs and medical care from our county tax dollars through the indigent health care program because of these people you love to hate. We need more of this sunshine in Smith County. Nix is a breath of fresh air and he won't vote himself a $6,000 raise either!
Locally: Grass Roots America = Smith County Taxpayers Association
Ask a parent of a child from Whitehouse ISD how well this group looks out for the "interests" of the people.
Nix touts the "poor roads". Who does he think contributed to this problem? Sharon Emmert, Frank Sawyer, JoAnn Fleming, Becky Dempsey, and others with this horrible, horrible group. Now the Commissioners court is stacked with these idiots: Warr, Phillips, and Nix. Watch the ineffectiveness return to the court!
Be scared, be very very scared!
Look out Democrats. This is why Dems want to extend unemployment benifits. They will be needing them come November.
Is ready for a change. If only commissioner pct4 could change.
