Teachers want their voices heard

NACOGDOCHES — More than 60 teachers from Nacogdoches and Lufkin are reserving their first day of spring break for a trip to Austin for Lobby Day 2011.
The group consists of members from the East Texas American Federation of Teachers, a branch of the American Federation of Teachers, which was founded to represent the economic, social and professional interests of classroom teachers. Visitors to Lobby Day next Monday will have a chance to get their voices heard, and visit with the lawmakers, Stephen Wright, AFT field representative, said at this week's AFT meeting.
